Should alcohol consumption and smoking be made illegal everywhere?
Learn from history. Alcohol was banned once and it made lots of people criminals and created a situation where organized crime flourished. Lots of restaurants have failed when smoking was banned as smokers tend to order more drinks and many smokers switched to house parties/ dinners instead of going out to eat. What about making it legal to punch noisy eaters and gum chewers as they raise the blood pressure of many people around them? And during prohibition the upper crust always had booze but they were not prosecuted for it , often. heck in Hyde Park the laundry man to the wealthy households would meet with the butlers of the families and he would take orders for the household booze, weekly at least. I smoke and I just moved to a locaiton where smoking in restaurants and bars was okay.
