Should a picture and bio be required on the writers Helium home page?
Let me begin by saying that I can write about anybody else, but not myself. There is a very short bio on my about me page and some of the questions listed have answers; however, there is no photo. I write because it is something I enjoy and feel compelled to do, but that does not mean that I have to plaster my private life all over the internet and the rest of the world for everyone to know my business. My bio on the about me page contains enough information that any editor of potential employer can see how long I have been writing, how much work I have had published, and what my area of expertise is. This is plenty of information for a potential job. There is also information for where I may be contacted. My private life is my own and I would like to keep as much of it that way as possible. I believe that places like Helium should let each person decide for themselves how much – if any – information a writer wishes to post on the bio page and that includes uploading a photo. I have no
