Should a person suffering from a terminal disease or incurable mental illness be allowed voluntary Euthanasia?

I would agree with the premis that one who has a terminal disease should be allowed to choose how and when they die. The problem with those who have an incurable mental illness is that they would be unlikely to be able to give informed consent, and I could not, therefore, support that idea. I’ve always supported “Death with Dignity” laws and will continue to do so. I’ve worked (at various times in my life) in elder care and in care for the terminally ill, and I have seen the results of the state forcing people to continue long after they wished to pass on.
