Should a person quit college to pursue career in music?
If you have been offered an incredible opportunity in music, you might take a leave from college to pursue it, knowing that if the luck doesn’t continue, you can always come back and finish your degree. On the other hand, if you are just hoping that your career will work out but have no immediate prospects, then no. The chances of a successful career in music are very small, so it makes no sense to give up what you do have for what you might want. Furthermore, “pursuing” takes no time, so you would need to do something else anyway until the career happens. You might as well be making progress toward a degree. I’m also concerned about the additional detail you added here. Do you mean you just began your career, or you just began playing bass? If the latter, remember that you will be competing against those who have been playing all their lives, and it is unlikely that you would be successful in the short run.
