Shortly after starting the diet, my menstrual cycle was heavy and appeared to contain tissue. Why did this happen?
This question comes up often. The menstrual cycle changes because the body is flushing out toxins and, in the process, old dead tissue that is bound to the uterine wall is sloughed off. Women may be surprised when this happens, but it is a temporary situation. Look at it as a part of the process of ridding the body of endometrial build-up that serves no useful purpose. It is a natural part of the detoxification process.
