Shirtless firefighters and wine: Does it get any better?
Anytime firefighters get together with a wine tasting, it is inevitable the room is going to heat up. On Nov. 18, that’s exactly what happened at the Lone Tree Golf Club and Hotel. The buzz of the night wasn’t because of the wine though, or even the hunky firefighters signing their new 2009 calendars, it was all about Fired Up For Kids, the non-profit organization benefiting the Children’s Hospital Burn Center. All proceeds from sales of the calendar (which once the public servants took off their shirts starting selling like hotcakes), go to the cause, which has already raised over $250,000. The vino kept things moving as well, with the free-flowing grapes sponsored by Highlands WineSeller, bringing in over 100 varieties and along with some tasty treats to keep the palate moving. The men will again be autographing calendars, this time bottling at the source, unwinding at Highlands WineSeller on Dec. 12. No word yet if they will be takin
