You might want to read this site showing how speed humps make life harder for drivers, residents and emergency services: http://www.abd.org.uk/speed_humps.htm There’s little else to add, other than that in France (where they like taking action), I believe irritated motorists set up a large group of people who hooted at every speed hump – that soon got them removed!
