Shall i use nizoral shampoo for dandruff and hair loss treatment?
I’ve been using Nizoral AD over-the-counter shampoo for a few years and recommend it. The important thing about Nizoral is that it contains ketoconazole, which kills the fungus responsible for seborhiac dermatitis. Seborhiac dermatitis is one possible cause of dandruff and Nizoral is excellent at treating this particular cause. Some people have noted that ketoconazole affects the amount of testosterone in hair follicles in the scalp, and claim that the shampoo will help maintain a healthy head of hair. I am definitely balding but haven’t really lost any more hair in the years since I’ve been using Nizoral. Is this a result of the shampoo? Maybe, but I can’t say for sure. Finally, Nizoral is an excellent shampoo. Just a little will lather up nicely, and it feels and smells very good. I do not notice any dryness after using it… in fact, it leaves my hair feeling well conditioned. It is expensive, however — a 7 ounce bottle costs something like $14.
