Shall I get a male or female kitten? What would my grown up cat react better to?
It depends. If your looking for loving cats either are very loving. Don’t worry about how your cat right now will react, it will get used to it (like my cat did). Female cats can always get pregnant so I really don’t know if that’s a pro or con for you. If you get a male cat make sure your female cat is spayed they will mate with each other. Really it’s a personal opinion that you have to find out for yourself. Either in my opinion would be great. Good Luck!!!
