Setting up dog kennels?
This was something I looked into doing myself a few years ago and it was a nightmare. Option one is to buy and existing kennels. Just type in ‘kennel sales’ into a search engine and it should come up with a few sites that specialise in this. The down side to this is that you need a lot of spare cash. The mortgage company will only value the bricks and mortar of the place, not the business as it is a service industry. We put in an offer on one place that was for sale for £450,000 but it was only valued at £350,000. We would have had to come up with a minimum of £100,000 cash to enable the sale to go through, which we couldn’t do. The second option is to buy a property with land that is suitable. It needs to be pretty rural however and you should get in touch with the local planning department and environmental health department to ask for advice. The planning department will be able to tell you if ‘in principle’ a kennels could be opened on that site. Once you have bought the property y
