Seeing as lightning is merely a movement of electricity from a place of high potential energy to an area of low potential energy… is it possible for lightning to occur without the presence of clouds?
the static energy built up, occurs when water molecules move upward in the air, them moving against air molecules cause an uneven buildup of electrons in one place by reference to another and this causes lightning so it happens as water rises, which forms clouds, and a lot of water needs to rise to the air to form enough potential difference to cause lightning, looking from an analytical stand point, it doesn’t seem likely to have lightning without clouds
