• Every household has been supplied with one wheeled bin for recycled household waste and one wheeled bin for residual household waste to be sent to landfill. So your is still collected weekly with the recycling bin collected one week and the landfill bin collected the following week. • By offering an enhanced recycling service a broader range of materials can be recycled at the kerbside and waste diverted form landfill. This will also mean fewer trips by car to Household Waste Recycling Sites (the ‘tip’) or to bring sites. • AWC will reduce green house gasses so helping to reduce global warming and the environment generally. • Over 140 councils out of 410 across England & Wales have introduced AWC successfully and the numbers are increasing. As waste contracts come to an end AWC is becoming the norm.
