Secure PC protection from Vodafone has detected virus/trojans on my computer and can remove them. Why does it rename the files instead of deleting them?

F-Secure PC protection from Vodafone renames the file to deactivate/disable the running process. Once an infection has been renamed it is not active anymore therefore is not dangerous. A running process has a file in use and therefore the file cannot be deleted.
