Sea levels have risen and fallen frequently over Earth’s 4.5 billion years past, so what is the fuss?
In recent years the rate of global sea level rise has risen more rapidly than the average rate over the passed two to three thousand years. During this period world populations have increased substantially with large numbers of people living close to the sea. More than a hundred million people world wide live today with in three feet of the mean sea level, hence the concern.
