SCSI Removable Drives – How do I format different size media?

0

There are a number of drives on the market that can use different size removable media. The first example which seems to be properly handled by NEXTSTEP/OpenStep is the floppy drive which on white hardware commonly can utilize 720K and 1.44M diskettes. On NeXT origional or Black Hardware this also includes 2.88M diskettes. More commonly and what this FAQ answer is all about relates to SCSI devices that support removable/rewritable media Note: This FAQ does not cover CDR, WORM or any write once media. Here is a list of devices I know about that support multiple media types. Many of the Magneto Optical 1.3G devices which support 2x media also support 1x media.
