Scott, what are the best exercises to get fit to play tennis?
I’m 41 and haven’t done much sport for ten years. Phew this is a difficult question because I don’t have much information to go on. Tennis is an intermittent, largely anaerobic sport, which needs levels of endurance to last 3 sets (plus?). There are many potential risks involved in playing tennis due to the need change direction rapidly and to generally twist and turn a lot. With this in mind I would recommend exercises that strengthen the joints of your legs (see the question above about knee rehab), I would also recommend using a wobble board, left, to keep your ankles strong.
