Satellite dish and DSL – do I need two phone lines?

The previous answer is correct. You do NOT need a second phone line. All is required is a DSL Filter. ATT should be sending you two when you get your DSL modem. The Satellite company may not have them during install. For example, DISH Network techs are not required to install DSL filters. None of DISH Network’s receivers most be plugged into a phone line to work. However, if you do plug it in on a dual tuner receiver, they will waive the second room fee.
