We will be in San Francisco on a short visit and are trying to fit too much in. I want to ride the cable car from Powell Street to Fisherman’s wharf and get there in time for a tour that starts at 1:15 pm. If we are late, we miss it. We’ll have lots of time afterwards to checkout the Wharf area, but want to spend as much time as possible in Union Square that morning as we likely won’t get back there. So how much time do I have to allow to get on and ride the cable car back to Hyde st? A: To get to fishermans wharf from Union Square, there are a few things you should know. +The intersection of Powell and Market Streets is EXTREMELY busy due to it having SEVERAL subway and other rail stations at the Powell Street Station, just to the south of the cable car turnaround, under Hallidie Plaza. There is also one of CALIFORNIAS LARGEST SHOPPING MALL at the same intersection along with several other attractions. +There will most likely be a long line of people extending from the front of the GA
