Safari destination Zimbabwe ?
A country with a certain political instability. In principle, it has a good safari infrastructure and nice english speaking people. Zimbabwe has well trained guides and good wildlife. The tourism infrastructure was organized. Due to the difficult social and economicl evolution a lot of game hunting is happening. Bushmeat is again common for the time being. Transport is handicapped by a regular lack of petrol. The instability of prices and political isolation makes it, for the moment, a difficult and adventurous destination. Around 15 % of the surface in Zimbabwe is wildlife protected area. But a lot of wildlife roams around the parks. The famous national parks along the Zambezi river are perfect for canoe/boat trips. They provide also year-round water for the local wildlife. These large parks are not fenced like the Kruger NP in South Africa. So elephants roam freely from one side of the Zambezi to the other.
