s relating to the Honors & Regular Chemistry Class What are the diffrences between Honors Chemistry and Regular Chemistry courses?
• Both of the honors chemistry and regular chemistry are the first year high school chemistry classes in which all of the basic chemistry theories described in the California Science Content Standards will be introduced. Both classes fulfill the UC “D” laboratory science requirements. • In addition to the chemistry content standards, the AS Chem curriculum is also based on “the expectations for entering freshmen” for the UC, CSU and Community Colleges; therefore, the AS Chemistry is a very rigorous one-year college preparatory lab course that is designed to provide a strong chemistry foundation for intended science major students. • The AS Chemistry students will study matter and the changes that it undergoes. The principles of general chemistry will be examined in depth through teacher’s explanation, discussion or quantitative laboratory works. Experimental data analysis, problem solving skills, and qualitative and quantitative observations are emphasizedvery strongly. The application
