In the Study Region Wizard, you have the option for specifying your Study Region by census tracts or census blocks. However, this requires that you either know the associated FIPS code or know the location of these census geography polygons if you choose the ‘Show Map’ function. If you wish to create a Study Region by city boundary, you should choose the census blocks or tracts that define the city jurisdiction. In some cases, this could require an approximation if census geography intersects the city boundary in some places. HINT: If GIS is needed for determining the census geography associated with a city boundary, simply overlay the two data layers and use GIS select by location tools.
