I would have to say that Pedigree is better. I’m basing this on the pet food recalls of the last year. Pedigree was not recalled, there were no problems with the food. Science Diet was on the recall list, recalling over a dozen products. I’m still not trusting of any of the pet foods that were on the recall list, but I won’t go into details for all my reasons. It bothers me a lot that Science Diet is sold at Vet’s offices only and is thereby (IMHO) giving themselves the image that they are a higher quality food. A high quality food should never have been on the recall list. To me, buying a food at a Vet’s office should give you more of a guarantee that it’s good for your pet and not going to harm them. I also don’t like the idea of Vet’s carrying dog food and nearly prescribing it for animals when they are making a profit from it. Just seems like there may be a conflict of interests there.
