If the car is equipped with a roof rack, the roof probably has protective ribs running front to back. These ribs help avoid scratching of the painted surface. However, we recommend using our optional Protective Mat, a soft, non-slip mesh to protect the sections of the roof not covered by the ribs. If the car is not equipped with a roof rack, we strongly recommend using our optional Protective Mat, a soft, non-slip mesh that will protect the painted surface against potential abrasion caused by vibration and dust during travel.
