Resolved Question: Hosting forum with chat?
Firstly, I’ll freely admit that I have no idea what I’m doing. I’m trying to set up a community with a forum, chat room and preferably a face page with some basic information. Ideally, I would like to be able to control the age of persons who are permitted to join, hide forums from public view, etc. I also need to have full administrative power over the chat room. Such as being able to instate moderators and to access chat logs. And preferably the chat room would integrate with the forum and log people in with their forum ID. Currently, I’m looking at IPBoards, but it seems that you cannot host website on their hosting plans, only the board itself? I also am looking in to phpBB and ajax chat which are both free open source. But it seems there is quite a bit of coding involved that I can’t begin to understand and I would also need good hosting.
