Often this is caused by the “Auto-Protect” feature used by Anti-Virus software. These programs scan for viruses automatically in the background and can severely diminish the performance of 16 bit applications such as RentRight. To get around this you can disable the Auto-Protection feature before starting RentRight. If you have Norton Anti-Virus 2002 installed you can “Right” click the Norton Shield in the system tray (bottom right) and choose “Disable”. For other applications you should check the user manual or search their Frequently Asked Question on-line.
