Check that both the footwell storage compartments are properly shut. There are switches in the catches of these that turn on the footwell lights so that you can see into the storage compartments. Dirt around the edge of the compartments can prevent them from closing properly. Clean around the edge of the compartments, then stamp on the lids to make sure they are properly shut.
