Renaissance must have cost a lot to develop. Why are CoralTree Systems giving it away for nothing?
The number of man hours consumed to develop the first release of Renaissance runs well into 4 figures. However, CoralTree do not make commercial gain from the Framework itself – only the applications that we write that make use of the Framework. The more people that use the Framework, the more likely it is to benefit from both bug fixes and innovative enhancements from the user community. Some of these enhancements may be of benefit to our own applications as, of course, will the bug fixes.
