Religion vs. Science – Can The Two Co-exist?
Well, I went to see the move Contact the other day and felt that it raised a number of interesting questions that actually relate to both politics in general and Mid-East Politics specifically. Science vs. Religion: The great debate between those that believe that science is the fountain of truth and those that place their faith over any science. What makes this so interesting is that at the heart of the Mid-East Conflict is the fundamental differences between the three major Western religions and the lack of tolerance for each that has spurred additional problems for the region. Could a greater reliance upon science improve the lives of the people in the region without destroying the historical, cultural and religious significance of the region to billions of people? Can the infusion of science into the region hasten and feed the hatred of the haves vs. the have-nots and cause greater strife among the nations?
