Region Coding. What is region coding and what do I need to consider when I travel to other geographical regions and wish to play movies?
A. Region Coding is part of the protection system for DVD content. Region Coding divides the world into six regions. The intent is to enable specific content to be viewed in a specific region (e.g. content specified for Region 1 is intended to be viewed in US and Canada). The region code is set using your DVD player software. In DVDExpress, you can find your current setting on the DVD Options dialog’s About tab. It is noted in parentheses after the application version number. For other players, check the documentation that came with your player software. Note: The Region Code can only be changed 5 times. The Region Code options tab will appear only when playback is stopped.
