Substance abuse and mental health are two distinct provider types in MIHMS. If these are being provided in the same physical location, you will need to obtain a subpart NPI to re-enroll the second provider type. If the two services are separate and distinct, such as substance abuse services located on the first floor and mental health services on the second, for instance, you may re-enroll each of them under one NPI using the First Floor and Second Floor as a secondary unit designator in your address.
