This is a common problem with Mozilla 1.2b. It has been covered by the following bugs: Bug 173638 – Unable to save any files and Bug 171441 – Unable to download files. The solution, according to the Bugzilla entries, is: 1. Closing Mozilla 2. Deleting \mozilla.org\Mozilla\components\compreg.
