Receivers get local channels on their over-the-air numbers (2 – 99). Why doesn mine do that?
Like most electronics technology, satellite receivers have improved over the years. For example, newer DIRECTV® Receivers have higher speed processors (just like PCs have incorporated faster chips). Newer DIRECTV® Receivers also show the local channels on numbers that correspond to the exact local channel numbers in your area (between 2 and 99). They also have more internal memory to hold more program guide data.
