Reading” and “Review” seem clear, but what is meant by “Recitation”?
“Recitation” refers to an activity in which students present projects or show their mastery of material orally. Examples could include poster sessions, oral presentations of research, and debates. The word “Recitation” is included in the name of the RRR period in order to emphasize that these forms of active engagement are considered appropriate for the RRR period, alongside more traditional review sessions and individual study. Instructors are encouraged to schedule such recitations outside RRR week whenever possible, but time and venue constraints may make the RRR period the only feasible time to do so. In such cases, instructors should maximize flexibility and scheduling options because students are likely to have other academic commitments during the RRR week.
