Radiation Treatment for cancer patient?

A patient with throat cancer who has been using MI Paste. The Radiation / Oncology Department is questing the use of MI Paste due to the Titanium and Zinc Oxides. Will this cause “Radiation Scatter” and allow radiation to scatter to areas not aimed or patterned for radiation. Much like what deodorant does with Mammography’s and/or X-Rays. GCC does not have any data regarding this situation. Dr. Heiss felt that any MI Paste treatment should be discontinued for 24 hours prior to radiation therapy and GCC said that they would support Dr. Heiss’s statement. The DDS was okay with the recommendation but feels GC America should take further steps in identifying this in our contra-indications.
