Quicktime player has taken over all the music on my computer. How do I restore control back to Windows Media Player?
• Open the stand-alone QuickTime player (you probably have a link somewhere in your Start menu or desktop) • Click “Edit” in the player’s navigation menu • In “Preferences” click “Quicktime Preferences…” • Click the drop-down menu (where it says “Update Check”) • Select “File Type Associations” • Remove the check mark (if it’s checked) for “Notify me if other applications…” • Click “File Types…” • Click the “+” symbol next to “Audio – Audio only file formats” • Remove the check mark next to “MIDI file” • Click the “+” symbol next to “MP3 – MPEG layer III movies and streams” • Remove the check marks (if they’re checked) for both “MP3 audio file” and “MP3 playlist file” • Click “OK” • Click the “X” at the upper-right part of the menu to close it. • Click the “X” at the upper-right part of the player to close it. • Open the Windows Media Player (you probably have a link somewhere in your Start menu or desktop) • Click “Tools” in the player’s navigation menu • Click “Options…” • Cl
