For the highest accuracy, the QuickBird Basic product should be ordered. Using Toutin’s Rigorous Model in OrthoEngine, a DEM and a minimum of 6 accurate GCP’s will produce the best results. An RPC file is included with the QuickBird Basic product so this type of data can also be orthorectified using Rational Functions. GCP’s can be used in conjunction with the RPC’s but they are not required. Using Toutin’s Rigorous Model with GCP’s and a DEM will produce more accurate results than an ortho created using Rational Functions. The QuickBird Standard product has been corrected using GTOPO30 DEM. This means that you can not perform any further correction on it. If you have this product, the only option available would be a 2nd order polynomial. The Ortho Ready Standard product is the same as the Standard product, but has not been corrected with a DEM.
