Question about my upcoming ultrasound?
if you have something sweet to drink it should make baby more active, yes you should be able to find out the sex, the pictures should be really good at my 20wk scan everything was really defined it was so cool don’t forget to drink the required amount of water this will help with the pics not sure about the 3d and 4d scans didn’t have one done as i didn’t want to find out the sex and thought the chances of finding out would be higher if i did this good luck to you, you are half way there to been able to hold your precious baby in your arms
If baby cooperates, you should be able to determine gender. It won’t hurt to have a little snack, though I’m not sure if it’ll make baby more active. And definitely have something to drink. You need to have a full bladder for an ultrasound, as the uterus is behind the bladder. If the bladder is full, it’s expanded and full of clear fluid so the ultrasound can “look” through it. Sorry, but I can’t help with the 2D, 3D, or 4D…. I live in a small town and all we have available is the 2D ultrasound.
Depending on how good the ultrasound machine is will depend with the pictures, at 17 1/2 weeks chances are very high that you will be able to find out the sex as long as baby is lying the right way 🙂 As for the 3D it will be good at this stage but the 4d isnt great there normally better when your further along about 25-32 weeks when the fluid is at its highest.
The pictures will still be good, if you look on google images you can search for 2d/3d ultrasounds at 17 weeks. Yeah it’s possible to find out the sex, as long as your baby co-operates, i found out when i was 18 weeks by a 2d ultrasound and the pics were good. He can do a 3d this early, you can do it at any stage, but the baby will look pretty scary, i know that sounds bad, but the baby is really skinny at this point and has no fat, so they look very gaunt at this stage. Just have a glass of cold orange juice 20mins before your appointment, or a glass of cold water, that should get your baby moving.
