A permit is required to build or install any detached storage structure larger than 120 square feet. Even if a permit is not required, the structure must still meet all building and zoning codes, including being tied down to prevent wind displacement (Placement and anchorage on a concrete slab or through the use of helical mobile home anchors), required setbacks from property lines, and may not be placed in an easement.
