Yes, all students may bring their own vehicle to campus, including first year students. On both the Portland and Gorham campuses, parking is available for any student who applies for a parking decal through the USM Police Department Parking and Transportation office in Upton Hall, on in Gorham (207)780-5212 or Sullivan Gym in Portland (207)-780-4718. Simply present a current class schedule and vehicle registration. In Portland Hall, parking is available at the residence hall on a limited basis for a fee each semester plus a one-time charge for a decal, which also allows the student to park on campus. Parking spots for Portland Hall residents are assigned through the Office of Residential Life in Portland Hall at the beginning of each semester. A free shuttle bus runs between the Portland and Gorham campuses about every 45 minutes. There is also a shuttle bus from Portland Hall to the Portland Campus.
