To further clarify, a CI in any of these categories is a significant event or episode that is out of the ordinary- unexpected and not addressed by interventions described in the care plan. Examples are multiple health episodes, such as multiple injuries, a traumatic change in the person’s health, and/or harm to self or others that requires intervention outside the regular care plan.
