When you slide the valve parts in the “Open” direction, you can pull out the red part on the “Close” side. (If it is hard to pull out, pull it out gently using the tip of a spoon.) Next, remove the white part on the “Open” side. (You can push it out with a chopstick or similar implement at the place where you removed the red part.) Finally, remove the straw hood. When slipping the valve parts on, set the straw hood in the straw adapter, insert the white part on the “Open” side, and hold this part down while you push the red part in on the “Close” side.
