Prevention is better than cure is one of the concepts of Ayurveda. How can one prevent ill health?
Ans. The concept of ‘Nidana Parivarjanam’ (avoiding causative foods and practices) is mentioned for all diseases in Ayurveda. For prevention of disease, one should follow Sadvritta (Good conduct), Dincharya (Daily regimen) & Ritucharya (Seasonal regimen) as advised in Ayurveda. Rules of eating are mentioned in Ayurvedic classics, besides the use of bio-cleansing procedure (Panchakarma) can be advocated for keeping the dosas normal and thus prevent ill health.
