Pregnant! Are yeast infections common?

Unfortunately yes. After becoming pregnant, I used panti-liners (because I had really heavy discharge), changed it 3-4 times a day, showered twice a day, yet I still got an yeast infection. My OB/GYN prescribed an over the counter vaginal cream and advised me not to use panti liners anymore, to stop wearing tight pants/jeans (as if I could fit into them!), and not to consume too much dairy products. So I stopped putting lots of butter on toast (one of my cravings), stopped drinking regular milk and just drank soy milk with calcium instead. But I still continued eating yogurt and hard cheeses – in moderation. So far, after using the cream and following her suggestions, the symptoms associated with a yeast infection have gone away for me, thank goodness!
