Postmodern vs. modern attitudes: How do liberal arts and science and mathematics faculty compare?
Historically, an attitudinal chasm has existed between liberal arts and science and mathematics faculty, often leading to a divided university that is unable to effectively fulfill its mission. In this study, it was hypothesized that the gap existing between these two camps is due to the modern attitudes of the science and mathematics faculty as compared to the postmodern attitudes of the liberal arts faculty.
