Poll question. Which has better graphics, xbox 360 or playstation 3?
In games developed specifically for each console, the XBox 360 has the edge right now. This stems from the fact that the 360 is basically a PC computer and every single game developer out there knows how to write for the PC. The ability to maximize the graphics for the XBox graphics chip is no longer a difficult thing. Check out “Bioshock” for excellent graphics and fantastic gameplay. Having said that… the new paradigm in throughput that the PS3 uses in it’s Cell processor and Graphics chip combination makes a possibility of much greater graphics output eventually. Of course, the ability to program for this combo is an art that needs to be learned and as game developers get more familiar with the PS3 architecture the resulting graphics will get better and better. In the end the PS3 will probably have as good a graphics output as whatever Microsoft develops to replace the XBox 360. Hope this helps.
