Please list any important geographic feature found in the Benelux countries (Belgium, Holand, Luxemburg) ?
The Rhine and the Meuse are two important rivers. Benelux countries have no mountains as such since the highest point is under 2000 feet. They have two important ports: Rotterdam and Antwerpen. An important feature in the Netherlands is what is known as “polders” or dried-out land gained on the sea. One third of the country is below sea-level. In Belgium, there is a very large forest called the “Ardennes”, that is where the German armies travelled in 1870, 1914 and 1940 to surprise the French army. Luxembourg is important as a financial and political centre, it is located in a woody area which is part of the Eifel (a forest extending in Germany).
