PLEASE ANSWER…Does Lyme disease affect the immune system and?
It can often cause immune system activity to flare, along w/ flu like symptoms, but sometimes it “gets in under the radar”. One thing it DOES do, if it’s an active infection, is to suppress the body’s ability to MAKE the larger white blood cells (“killer” cells/ CD-57 subset/ NID) which just happen to be the ones that can ‘consume’ & eradicate the spirochettes IF they’re located in the blood, which is not often.
