Places in the Bible: Nazareth – Did Jesus Mother Mary Come From Here?
Nazareth was a small agricultural village of no importance and which would have disappeared from all memory if not for its associations with Jesus in the gospel traditions. If it was occupied on a permanent basis, it wouldn’t have held much more than 1,000 people and possibly only as many as 500.
