The VERY earliest you can get a positive pregnancy test is 14 days after ovulation, so you have probably tested too early. Even then, it is not very accurate. The most accurate time to test is when your period is due. Tests that detect pregnancy 7 days before your period are accurate, but only about 50-60%. The spotting you describe could be implantation bleeding – where the embryo implants into the uterine wall. So it is possible you are pregnant and just tested too early. The discharge is normal, it can vary from cycle to cycle. When you ovulate, it tends to be stringy and resemble egg white. Do another test when your period is due.
