Physics Help Waves: What types of waves transfer Energy, and which transfer information?
What it actually means is that the wave can transfer information and it takes energy to do that, however the definition of information is different. (e.g. water actually transfers “information” in the form of what is carried through the water to you.) There is no such thing as types of waves that just transfer energy and types of waves that just transfer information.
